The National Youth Workers Convention - Preview

I’m sitting in my hotel room now- 10th floor, downtown Cincinnati. The convention starts in the morning. I’ve been attending these conferences for five years now, and every year this convention is extremely meaningful to me. It’s funny how different each experience has been. God always speaks clearly to me here. Maybe it’s simply because I am paying closer attention and I am expecting to hear from Him. It’s that whole retreat phenomenon. So, I’m looking forward to what God will do here in my heart this weekend.

I brought along some encouragement/prayer/verse/art/you-name-it cards that some students gave me before I left. These are basically just 3x5 cards with all sorts of thoughts written on them. I’ve read a few of them and I already know this is going to be a fun addition to my week. So if you’re a JCS student and you wrote me a card, know that I am reading them, and looking up verses, praying for you, and laughing.

Philip. 4:8
And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
