We (Laura & I, and a group of students and youth leaders from Westwinds) just got back from 10 days in London where we were serving alongside a family who has started a house church in the East London burrough of Newham, specifically the community of Forest Gate which is 90% South Asian. Our team put on a "holiday club" (much like a vbs program) for the kids in the community.
This trip was a really unique experience. It is impossible to describe what it is like to be in England, yet completely surrounded by people from Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, etc... and to hear them speaking in a British accent. It is wild. The religious diversity is equally mind bottling (ht to Will Ferrell).
Too much happened for me to unpack all at once. For now, we are back. More later.
