Afterward, I wanted to try to capture some of the emotion (which is what I think artwork is anyway), so it seemd logical to turn to the brush and canvas as an outlet. Two pieces emerged. The first is a somewhat abstract piece that I spent the majority of my time on. For me, there is symbolism in the color choices, shapes, angles, and layers. But I think it's best that you allow yourself to see the things that you need to see in it. The second work is just a three-minute piece done in an 11x14 sketchbook. It was more of an afterthought. I have a thing for circles and I really resisted putting any circles into the first piece so I needed a separate place to do that. Hence the second piece.
Enjoy. I'd love to hear comments (if anyone reads this).
Healing Journey:

Healing Light:

first piece: i really like the blues and their lines. the center of the painting being an explosion-type thing is contrasted/framed nicely against the rigid, windowlike exterior. The white squiggles trouble me. it's like i want to look past them to the cool center(explosion) of the painting, then my eye is drawn to the blues and the straight lines.
second piece: i like how there is a hint of red in the gray, under the red dot. like a mirage or a diffusion of some sort. like i would miss it if i didn't look closely.
My thoughts are, before and after.
The first piece took a while, so did your prayer on the couch, and you refused to paint circles, symbols of wholeness, what you sought while praying. The first piece looks like an unveiling of the soul, a pulling back of the curtain to reveal what really lies inside, not a circle, not wholeness. There is a hint of a red dot in the center of chaos revealing that Christ is at work pulling in the chaos to more of a circle.
The second piece is tranquility. It does have the same red dot in the center but this time, a circle. The circle is the wholeness and healing that you sought, and now that curtain has been put back, but the wholeness is seen through the curtain, your wholeness cannot hide.
"You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven." -Jesus
